A ride to Rochester via Swanley Village, South Darenth, Green Street Green and Gravesend. Its about 30 miles. There are some hills but nothing extreme.

Coffee stop somewhere on route – not sure where yet, but we may hold out to Milton and visit the popular and well known Promenade Cafe.

At Rochester there is an Xmas Market in the grounds of the Castle and the High Street will be decked out in its Christmas finery. I intend to be in Rochester for about 2:30 – 3:00 pm.

Return to Bromley South by train. Change at Bromley South for anyone wishing to return to Orpington. Fare is around £11.40 so with group-save under £8.

You should bring spares inner tubes and tools for emergencies. You will need lights for your bike. Bring drinx and snax (the ride leader likes jelly babies, flapjack and mince-pies – but not all at once).

This will be a relaxed ride, but is not suitable for novices.
