1. Why cycle?

2. Take that once-loved bicycle out of the shed and check for:
- tyre wear & inflation
- chain oiled
- gears & brakes working
3. Consider wearing:
- a helmet
- suitable clothing - padded shorts are well worth it and can be concealed under something
else
- gloves to protect the hands, shades or specs to protect the eyes
