Present: Paul Higgins, Paula Godman, Nev Medhurst, Peter Nemestothy, Steve Watkin, Derek Mark, Eve Evans, Spencer Harradine, Trevor Davies, Charles Potter

 

Balance: £587.30 (245.90 is this year’s membership grant; still awaiting last Sep Freewheel payment.  Trevor will provide number of members; Charles to ask whether there has been any change.

 

Cycle a Mile: How to capitalise on the contacts made?  Email re Skyride.  Link with Sunday MyTime runs?  Monthly in winter.  From the 4 Go-Ride schools, Oct, Nov, Feb, Mar.  Sky schools rides link?

 

Bromley Bike Blast: post mortem after council returns from hols.

 

21 Aug, Bromley Périphérique: join & leave as desired; map to be redrawn by Charles & Shaun & posted on website.

 

4 Sep, Outdoor Bromley, Queens Gardens: Spencer, Eve, Paul, Charles. Gate opens 0730, cars removed by 1000, public enters 1100, pitches allocated on arrival.  Take Go-Ride leaflets, LCC membership leaflets, maps, bikes.

 

5 Sep, London Skyride: Bromley South, 9am, leader Steve, support leader Spencer; Crys Pal Pk Café, 9.15am, leader Charles, support leader Shaun; volunteer marshals to register on website when page is posted. Return time is 1530.

 

Women cyclists: women want a 5-10mi ride, low traffic, any leader; incorporate parks, Waterlink Way.  First autumn family rides: 19 Sep, 1000 & 1400, Norman Pk, Steve to lead.

 

Biking Borough Report: council officers not responding to queries.

 

Cator Pk gates: Sustrans contacted Malcolm Harris, Cycling Officer; Charles emailed Penny Read,

Parks Dept.  Sustrans Tom Sharland says any motorcycle-proof gate as desired by locals will be restrictive of certain types of wheeled access; locals would need to press for total gate removal and better policing as the alternative.

 

Jubilee Park: gates are not locked, only appeared to be so.  Opinion of the meeting: both park issues are hopeless causes not worth our efforts.

 

Go-Ride: starts 11 Sep; competition at Alexandra School was very successful (pix on website); Bromley League being formed, to have regular competitions; Pickhurst shed going up, more b ikes acquired; Priory mtb course being improved.

 

Leaflet: Charles & Derek to arrange 3-sided leaflet for 4 Sep: G-R, Skyride details & 19 Sep ride, 250 copies

 

Bromley Cycle Repairs: Nev starting up a business, will do M.O.T.’s on any BC ride in exchange for web link

 

AOB: A recycling bike facility?  Christmas meal?  City of London New Years’ parade?
