At the South Eastern Region Conference held at the Hilton Dartford Bridge Hotel today, Bigfoot Cycling Club’s popular and dedicated member was named as Go-Ride Volunteer of the Year.

The award presentation took place in the presence of Go-Ride Cycling members from across the region.

British Cycling’s Director of Coaching, Education and Development, John Mills, said: “Club volunteers have done an amazing job in supporting the growth of our sport and the conferences are a great opportunity for us to celebrate what we have achieved and to thank them for their continued commitment….”

This dedication was acknowledged with over 25 awards which were presented to volunteers for there hard work and commitment demonstrated at their Go-Ride Clubs, including awards for Club of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Coach of the Year and a Special Recognition Award.

Laura Trott, a world champion who first started cycling at Welwyn Wheelers Go-Ride Club, said: “Without support from the volunteers at my Go-Ride Club, it’s possible I wouldn’t be where I am today. Volunteers are all doing a fantastic job and making a real difference to the sport!”

After the presentation ceremony Adam modestly confided that he felt very humbled and liked to think of the award as a recognition of the whole Bigfoot Go-ride Team without whom none of it would be possible.

Congratulations to Adam from Bromley Cyclists
