Arranged at the last minute, this impromptu ride to Eynsford was not without incident.   A small group left Orpington High Street at 8.55am for Eynsford – we must be back by 11.30am said our leader, as he had a prior lunch arrangement.

All went well until our descent of Old Polhill, where somehad had dumped a load of bricks, which unfortunately caught Stewart by surprise and we had to stop for repairs to the bike and to dust Stewart down with the trusty antisceptic wipes.

Moving off we head for Shoreham, but yet another stop now for Steve who had a puncture.  Our tea break was looking less likely to happen as the time was ticking by.

However, we picked up a bit of speed and arrived at Lullingstone with time for a swift cuppa, before riding into Eynsford for a quick look at the Ford and then it was back up the hill to Crockenhill, Eve managing to get to the top first, which has never happened before.

Then back to Orpington by 11.33, thanks Steve for arranging this ride at the last minute.
