It is a long time since I have posted a ride report on our website, mainly because we have not been able to organise many rides this year, but today Linda led us her wonderful Paddock Wood Loop.
This was a 60 miler on the roads and lanes around the Kentish Weald. The ride started at Paddock Wood which most of us had reached by train, there were 11 riders. The ride was almost dead flat from beginning to end; quite remarkable really. We visited the pretty villages of Marden, Yalding, Hunton, Linton and more all bathed in glorious early autumn sunshine.
We had a tea /Cake stop in the village tea rooms at Headcorn and Tracey had kindly organised a huge tray of sandwiches and chips at the Kings head at Staplehurst where we took a late lunch.
Back at Bromley South by 5.30 pm tired but exhilarated. It’s a long time since I have done 60 miles by bike and I loved it all.
