On the 11th August 2012 Spencer held a 10 Mile Ride, it was a beautiful hot sunny day. It Started at Norman Park at 14:00. My Dad, my brother Irfan and I arrived first, then Spencer, Jack and James came and James was complaining he hurt his coccyx when he was on his way to Norman Park. Unfortunately no one else came, so we set off.
First we went down Norman Park to the entrance. At the end we stopped at the junction and went past Becky’s house (which is Jack and James cousins and a friend in my class). We just said “Hi” because we were on the road and Becky and her friend Alba were getting in the car to go somewhere.
A few minutes later we were zooming down Pickhurst Rise. Jack and Irfan were determined to race, but it was too dangerous because it was on the road.
We did a few mini breaks and James was still in pain, but he was still bravely chugging along. We had quite a long break and Spencer told us he cycled to Amsterdam, it was 120 miles not including the train and the ferry. It took them a week.
Spencer, Jack, James and Irfan took my Dad and I down an alley way and showed us a tree-house made out of lemonade bottles. It was awesome.
After the amazing lemonade bottle tree we stopped at Spring Park. The problem was we didn’t know which direction to go, so we took a guess and went down the nearest path. It was very steep and rocky, Irfan and Jack zoomed down it.
We finally stopped at a Crazy Golf centre. and we had a few snacks and some coke and lemonade. It was brilliant. After that Spencer very kindly paid for James, Jack, Irfan and I to go crazy golfing next to the table we were sitting at, while my Dad and Spencer talked about “Grown up Stuff”.
The Crazy Golf was really fun. We kept hitting the ball everywhere, plus it was a really nice day. At the end we added up our scores and in 1st place was Irfan, in 2nd place was James, in 3rd place was Jack and in 4th place with only one goal was me.
Then we set off with Jack leading. We stopped at Hayes Station and decided we should go to Norman Park.
When we got there Irfan and Jack raced off, watching pedestrians (I hope). When they had finished we all said goodbye and Spencer, Jack and James set of to Orpington and we went back home.
*Thank You for everything Spencer*
