A beautiful sunny day as we met in Norman Park for the start of Spencer’s Saturday Saunter, which is exactly what it is, a leisurely ride around local parks and roads, improving our road skills and enjoying the countryside.
Today 10 of us headed up to Jubilee Park via some of the quieter back roads of Bromley and then through Petts Wood and out to Crofton. Making use of the traffic free paths where possible we continued up to Darrick Wood before picking one of the many tracks through the woods at the back of Lovibonds Avenue.
Then on through Tugmutton Common and Farnborough Park, before turning into Costa Coffee at Locksbottom for our afternoon coffee and for some cake.
A pleasant half an hour stop, chatting over our drinks and then it was back down the A21 via a traffic free route to Princes Plain, where we cut across the park and onto the new cycle path alongside the A21. Many of you have heard us speak in the past of ‘Big Dip’, which is a nice down and up mid way through the woods. Well done to everyone who had a go and don’t worry if you didn’t, there is always next time.
A lovely afternoon ride, expertly led by Spencer, one of our regular ride leaders. Thanks to Spencer for leading the ride and to all of you who came along.
