I couldn’t actually get to Bromley South on time tonight so Linda set out, six people tonight, in the direction of Jubilee Country Park and Petts Wood.  Some of our riders were on holiday and some had gone to the AGM at the Ivyhouse.

I left home around 8pm to join everyone half way through the ride and met up with Paul who was just dashing home to drop off some bags.

Seven of us finally assembled just outside Frankie & Benny’s to continue the ride along the cycle path on the A21 in the direction of Rushmore HIll.   The torrential rain which had been with us for most of the day had now thankfully passed and it looked as though the rest of the evening was set to be fine.

Using my old shopping bike (other one in for repair) I made slow progress, but nevertheless a pleasant ride.   Before too long we were settling into a nice corner in the pub, which was surprisingly quiet.  A lot of changes seem to have taken part since we were last here with a whole new restaurant section and pool table area.  We were made to feel very welcome and this pub should score well in our ‘Pub of the Month’ competition for August.

After a little while we were joined by Mark and Tony, who often go straight to the pub and look amazingly fresh on arrival, I secretly think they get dropped off around the corner each week.   A pleasant evening followed with everyone busily chatting about events of the past week and before we knew it it was 11pm and time for us to depart.   Still dry we made our way back up the A21 before peeling off in our various directions home.
