Wednesday Weekly Wander – The Bulls Head

A good turnout for a cold dark autumn evening!

Tonight Melissa led us out on a lovely ride to Green Street Green.

As usual we gathered at Bromley South, near the taxi rank – we were 12. Helena brought her friend, Kathy, so welcome to Kathy it was a long ride and you did very well. I hope you have been talked into coming to Brighton with us on 4th November. Whilst awaiting latecomers, in response to a polite request from a cabbie, we moved aside so that their customers had easier access to the waiting Hackneys. (The first request was very belligerent and rude and so was ignored.) We were also mindful that just a couple of weeks ago one of our members arrived late for a Wednesday Wander and was misdirected by a cab driver. Deliberate? Maybe not! But certainly very irritating!

Mel led us for twelve miles on paths, tracks and roads little used and rarely visited, a very interesting route which we will have to revisit in the daylight.

Nev suffered a puncture on the recumbent (that’s a sausage to Linda) so we were all able to observe a masterclass in puncture repair. A job which took me nearly an hour at the weekend dispatched in about 10 minutes.

This was a longish wander and most enjoyable. We were made most welcome in the pub. There was live music and we were able to get a table just the right size for all of us.

A Table for Twelve

Well done Melissa and thanks to everyone for coming.
