WWW The Cock, Halstead

Still with that cold wind we set off from Bromley South, just eight of us tonight, including a newbie Polly.  Up through Jubilee Park we went and then through some of the quieter streets of Petts Wood before Tower Road and then up the road opposite (the name escapes me) climbing up to the A224.

The reason for this route was because John and Eve wanted to test out their footpath route through the Golf Course across a little bridge over the A21 and dropping down to the Old London Road.   Some of this will be similar terrain to part of our Whitstable ride on Sunday.

Then up the hill to The Cock at Halstead where we were joined by the likely lads, Mark and Tony who assured us they had cycled there, but as they were not wearing their helmets we wondered whether they had got a crafty lift from someone.

We then enjoyed the rest of the evening in this rather pleasant pub, which could feature quite well in our pub of the month competition for June.

Then 11.00 and we started our journey back home, freezing cold, not at all June weather.  Hopefully warmer next week.
