There was a discussion on group communications. Sarah suggested using WhatsApp, although the point was made that this might not work for 200+ people.  It was also suggested to post events on Facebook.

Richard said that he would continue in his transport, traffic and infrastructure role with the Management Committee, but that he would now focus on the Orpington side of the borough.

It was agreed to tell people in the next London Cyclist magazine insert that they needed to agree to receiving LCC email communications to receive the group’s email newsletters.

Jim talked about the Bexley Saturday rides he helps lead that have proved tremendously successful at getting new people riding. There are 30+ regular riders, with 25 new riders. There are four active ride leaders. The rides are mainly organised on Facebook but also through WhatsApp and Let’s Ride. It was agreed to link up with a Bexley ride.

The group agreed that Bromley Cyclists needs more ride leaders. It was agreed to add a call for ride leaders in the London Cyclists magazine insert.
